2000 jeep GC start the jeep no radio, no odometer, turn the key back not quite to aux radio and odometer come on

Hello Customer (name blocked for privacy),

That sounds like a bad ignition switch. You would have to test for power coming out of the switch on the black with orange wire when the key is on. If no power found, the ignition switch is likely bad.

the jeep does start so I take it this is a sign of the switch going bad?
